In the immortal words of American icon Ricky Bobby, "Dear Lord baby Joba..."
6 Pound 8 Ounce Baby Swish?
I'm not going to lie, I'm a huge fan of Nick Swisher. Not only is he on a hitting tear, hitting .450/.542/1.150, he seems to really bring the clubhouse to life. You can also throw in the 1 IP, 1 K, 0.00 ERA up there too. As I advocated for during the offseason, I really think Swish should be out there in RF instead of Nady. And maybe have Pena at 3rd?
AJ goes tonight. Let's hope it goes better than last night...
Here's the lineup-
Pena!- I looked at the lineup after I wrote my little piece above!
At the age of 5 Conor Cashel and Kevin Seefried became die-hard Yankee fans. And nothing has changed since. From collecting baseball cards, to practicing the John Sterling's famous "Thaaaaaaaa Yankees WIN" to reading every article written about the Yanks, Conor and Kevin live, sleep, eat, and breathe Yankee baseball. The friends grew up in Westchester, New York, but have since moved to Denver, CO (Kevin) and Boston, MA (Conor). Inspired by the Hot Stove season, the Blog was started in early December of 2008.
In regards to the name of the blog... It is a reference to the famous Quote from Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby "Dear 8 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus..."Of course the title of the blog is 6 pound 8 ounce baby Joba, and the numbers were switched because we became Yankee fans in the era of Joe Torre (#6) and the site was started after the last game at Yankee stadium, in which our favorite site was seeing Yogi Berra(#8) in his uniform at home plate. Then Joba is the future of our Yankee fandom. So there is a chronological order to it.
The title won out over various other possibilities like: The Posada Pit, Raising the Ruth, The Bubba Crosby Blog, The Good the Great and The Gherig, Monumental Minds, Bye-Bye Bernie, Pettitte Precision, Jetertopia, The Legacy of Ledee, and Chad Curtis Where Are You?
