CC Sabathia signed a $161mm/7 year deal with an opt-out option(like A-Rod used last year) after 3 years. The opt-out clause could actually be a good thing. If CC really performs for these next three years, then he will most likely opt-out, and the Yankees will be able to make a run at younger starting pitchers. However, if CC has a poor three years(the last being the most important) then he will not opt out and we will have him on a huge contract for 4 more years. Anyways, he definitely makes our rotation and our team much better for 2009, and hopefully for a good portion of his contract. This is great for the Yankees, and everyone is excited to see the big guy in pinstripes.
